UPDATE: Our carnival was cancelled due to a racist and threatening letter sent to an organization that adjoins our school. This letter caused a chain reaction of events that led to the decision - with very heavy hearts - to cancel Friday's carnival.
Our students deserve to feel safe in the place where they learn. Our students deserve a chance to celebrate the year. We now know that - thank goodness - there have been no credible threats to our students. Given the climate in our city and our nation right now, however, our vigilance is heightened.
The outpouring of offers of help from the community has been tremendous. The PTA has decided that the Carnival must go on! And you can help...
If you would like to help, visit our gofundme page specifically for the carnival here, or if you prefer, use the donate button on this site and just include the word "carnival" in special instructions.
We also encourage you to stand up for our community, and stand up against racism by supporting Good in the Hood as well as its sponsoring organization, Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods , who received the hate-filled threats of violence.
